Laser dentistry
Laser dentistry potentially offers a more comfortable treatment option for a number of dental procedures involving hard or soft tissues compared to drills and other invasive procedures. The focused laser beam produces a reaction when it hits tissue, allowing for its removal or reshaping. It is used in a variety of procedures, including the treatment of hypersensitivity, tooth decay, gum diseases and whitening of teeth.
Lasers can make dental treatments more efficient, cost effective, and comfortable. Compared to the traditional dental drill, lasers:
  • Cause less pain, thereby reducing the need for anesthesia
  • Reduce anxiety in patients who are uncomfortable with the use of the dental drill
  • Minimize bleeding and swelling during soft tissue treatments
  • Promote blood clotting, and therefore minimized bleeding
  • Lower the chances for bacterial infections as it sterilizes the area
  • Promotes faster healing and tissue regeneration
