Scaling or teeth cleaning The junction between teeth and gum is a nidus for food entrapment, which if not cleaned within 12 hours, results in hardened deposits that cannot be brushed away. This can only be treated by ultrasonic cleaning, commonly known as scaling. It helps in maintaining gum health and is required once every year.
If you’re suffering from bad breath or bleeding gums, this is your cue. However, if the deposits are rooted deeper under the gum, your dentist might recommend you a gum surgery.
